GRCC Appoints Two New Board of Directors for 2023

The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) announces the recent appointments of the following business leaders in the greater Reston area to its Board of Directors:

1. Mr. Michael Davis, Dean of Math, Science, Technology, and Business at Northern Virginia Community College. Appointed September 2023.
2. Mr. Blake W. Frieman, Shareholder at Bean, Kinney & Korman P.C. Appointed September 2023.

Mr. Michael (Mike) Davis has served in community colleges for the past 20 years. For fifteen years he moved through roles as a faculty member, department chair, and administrator, including Associate Vice Chancellor for STEM, and interim Vice President for Academic Affairs. He was also one of the authors on the recently released Improving Undergraduate STEM Education – Innovations in Two-Year Colleges (IUSE:ITYC) program.  He worked on several other programs including ATE, IUSE, S-STEM, and RETTL. His work on the Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program works to pair the assets of community colleges with the needs of regional businesses to grow the skilled technical workforce. Currently, Mike is the Dean for Math, Science, Technology, and Business at the Loudoun Campus of Northern Virginia Community College, where he works to assure academic integrity across an array of programs. 
 

Mr. Blake Frieman is a shareholder at Bean, Kinney & Korman who represents financial institutions and other businesses in commercial financing and real estate matters. He routinely handles the documentation and negotiation of complex credit and security agreements for commercial loans as well as matters related to the acquisition, financing, and leasing of real estate. Blake also represents and advises businesses and individuals with respect to M&A transactions, taxation, and trusts and estates. He also has experience with handling commercial loan workouts and foreclosures, as well as collections, business disputes, and other commercial litigation matters.
