GRCC Prepares for 31st Annual Ethics Day Event
GRCC CommunicationsWednesday, December 13, 2023The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the upcoming 31st installment of its flagship educational event, Ethics Day, scheduled for Friday, January 5, 2024. This groundbreaking initiative, in collaboration with South Lakes High School, is set to take place from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Hyatt Regency Reston.
Ethics Day, established in 1992 as a pioneering partnership between the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce and South Lakes High School, stands as an opportunity for the entire senior class to explore the intricacies of ethical decision-making, poised to shape their future professional lives. Through a series of authentic, real-life scenarios, students engage in discussions and deliberations aimed at advancing ethical understanding and critical thinking.
The hallmark of this event lies in its reliance on the dedicated involvement of volunteers from the local business community. These individuals, known as Table Leaders, guide groups of 8-10 students through various scenarios, stimulating discussions and encouraging thoughtful ethical analyses.
Volunteers willing to participate as Table Leaders are urged to complete the registration process, committing to the event's timing from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Moreover, mandatory online training sessions in December will equip volunteers with essential updates and guidelines for the upcoming event, ensuring a cohesive and impactful experience for all participants.
Ethics Day is made possible by our generous sponsors: Google, Reston Community Center, Leidos, Micki Moravitz-Century 21 New Millennium, Sandy Spring Bank, Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley & Walsh, P.C., and Wegman’s.
Businesses interested in showcasing their commitment to Ethics Day and receiving promotional visibility are encouraged to contact Alicia Field, Director of Events, at 703.707.9045 or aliciaf@restonchamber.org.
