Business Education Series: Virtual Leadership - The Role of Courage Building in Conflict Resolution

 

You know how sometimes you find yourself avoiding or putting off having tough conversations at work? Or, you keep making excuses -- you're too busy...you're too tired...you'll get to it next week...?
 
And now, with many employees working virtually more than ever, you're even more reticent to have the tough conversations?
 
Recent research conducted by Dr. Brene Brown found that 

1. The future of leadership belongs to the brave;
2. Resolving conflicts requires courage; and
3. Courage is a set of four skill sets that are teachable, observable, and measurable.

In this BES we will go through each of the four skill sets that make up courage building and explore real-life stories that illustrate the role courageous leadership plays in handling tough conversations and managing and resolving conflicts. You will walk away with practical tips, tools, and knowledge about how to get your brave on and address conflicts more effectively.
 

About the speaker: 
Laura Sharon, Principal of Imperative Dimensions, Inc. and a Relationship Manager for TrainingPros, Inc.--is a seasoned performance improvement consultant and professional coach with more than 30 years of professional experience. She has an extensive background and expertise in the areas of , leadership development, organizational change, business process improvement, interpersonal communications, front-end performance analysis and assessment, training design and delivery, and program evaluation. She also has expertise in the area of executive meeting design and facilitation, chronic disease prevention and health promotion, and human behavior change.
 
Laura earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Connecticut College and her Master's Degree in Health Education from the University of Maryland. She is a certified Dare to Lead and Daring Way Facilitator (CDWF), holds a Master's Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University, and is a Kirkpatrick Certified Facilitator.
